Canberra Girls Grammar Formal

Talk about a show stopping event!

The Brief:

• The client requested a show stopping set up that feels like a scene, rather than a simple backdrop. Something the students could stand amongst and would feel grand within the Canberra Arboretum venue.
• The brief was to design a set up that combines golds, neutrals, gold shimmer and balloons – but keep it elegant.

The Concept:

• The goal was to create a breath taking backdrop that the students and guests could enjoy for photos on their special night. Keeping in mind that we didn’t wanted the decor to enhance the venue and the other wonderful vendors work. (We see you BOOMBox)
• We created a design that balanced out the shimmers with pops of white throughout. Which is why we implemented a raised white stage, chair and custom sign – so it wasn’t to overpowering.
• The set up was entered around the gold shimmer wall and all additional elements were added on from there. Adding the two balloon garlands and disco balls to create that scene effect rather than just a backdrop.

The Result:

• The Canberra Girls Grammar formal was a success, the set up came together perfectly, matching the requests of the client.
• Compliments from guests, faculty and the venue confirmed it was a winner.
